Stevenson Adventures SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) works alongside organisations and groups who are already involved with disadvantaged young people (14-22 years old). We provide qualified leaders and equipment to take these young folk on day, weekend and week-long walks/expeditions in the Scottish hills and wilderness areas in order to give them a challenge that will help to develop them as individuals. In particular we want to develop:

  • Greater self-confidence
  • Team-player skills
  • Social skills

Stevenson Adventures advance the Stevenson Way as a long distance wilderness walk in Scotland to the benefit of the general public and provide guided walks on the Stevenson Way as a means to support the work with disadvantaged teenagers. Their aim is to work with individual groups of young folk over a period of time in order to fully develop their potential and have a trainee leadership programme whereby suitable young people will be encouraged to develop their leadership skills.
